Martin Monk (*1985 in Berlin) is a German film director and screenwriter of English and Russian descent. After initially studying history and philosophy he turned towards the cinema, directing several self-produced short films before being selected by Michael Haneke as a M.A. Directing student at Film Academy Vienna. His latest work Favourites traces the steps of a runaway girl in search of her father and premiered at the prestigious Cinéfondation during the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.
